I made these works for a challenge whose theme was luminance. My first thought was the Virgin Mary, her serene visage illuminated by divine light. The second concept emerged as a large ceramic lamp in the shape of a tiger, poised with quiet strength. As often in my works, I strive to connect a subtle line between romance and erotica, infusing hints of sensuality in delicate doses. The soft glow of the lamp suggests whispered secrets and hidden desires, echoing the tender reverence found in the depiction of Mary. Through the interplay of light and form, I seek to evoke a sense of transcendent beauty that captivates the soul and sparks contemplation.
