Having obtained my PADI open water scuba diving license, I was inspired by the idea of the realm of deep sea creatures that we likely will never be able to discover in our lifetime and what they might look like. They have completely different biological needs based on the pressure of how deep they live and I wonder how interesting they might look. The creature is visualized with a rich agate purple and green color palette, evoking the mineral beauty of oceanic formations and the surreal hues of the abyss. It features barnacles on its legs, something familiar to the marine biology that we know, yet its overall appearance remains otherworldly and fantastical. The creature's large, expressive eyes and gentle demeanor suggest a harmless nature, designed to thrive under the immense pressure and darkness of its deep-sea environment. It is thought that this creature will likely be prey to larger sea monsters of the deep blue sea. This artwork not only explores the potential aesthetics of undiscovered marine life but also reflects on the broader themes of nature's adaptability and the endless possibilities that lie hidden beneath the sea's surface.
