At the moment, in Kyiv, where I live, cutting-edge architectural objects, which are relevant and real for implementation in a peaceful life in a big city, are not considered for construction. The most relevant are housing, restoration and reconstruction and, unfortunately, memorial spaces. This year, there were maybe 10 all-Ukrainian competitions for the design of memorial objects or spaces. With this work for the competition, I want to show what would happen in an alternative reality, if historical, economic and political events took place differently in Ukraine (the Soviet Union reign in the 20th century; a severe famine, called the Holodomor in 1932–33; Chornobyl accident in 1986; the full-scale war from 2022). If there was peace in Ukraine. Then such street stalls would already exist in Kyiv in 2024. With my works, I want to emphasize that Kyiv is a beautiful city with wonderful, talented, creative people who deserve to be in a comfortable and modern architectural environment.
